Ep93 – BBQ Chicken Sliders. Thank Us Later.

Tonight we chat with the great NY foodie Art Bovino from www.thedailymeal.com and make a delicious and simple (isn’t it always?) BBQ Chicken Slider. Soft, toasty sweet Hawaiian rolls with rotisserie chicken smothered in BBQ sauce (and a splash of vinegar for tang), topped with onion rings and cole slaw for a crispy/cool bite. Trust me, you haven’t made anything this good and easy in a long time (unless you’re a big-time Sam fan).

Ep82 – Meatball Stroganoff and the Return of Blue Steel!

On tonight’s Livecast we are very excited to have the infamous BLUE STEEL (otherwise know as Steve) back on camera with the livecast crew, telling us all about his voyage to India, Brazil, and China. And it is time again for our weekly Wednesday chat with The Daily Meal’s, Art Bovino. We talk chefs, fast cars, and In-n-Out vs. Shake Shack burgers! Last but not least, Sam’s cooking up a rich, creamy, deliciously easy-to-make version of a classic comfort food we like to call… Meatball Stroganoff!

Ep73 – Your Mom’s a Sweet Potato (and Yam)

Running out of ideas for Thanksgiving? Well Sam’s got you covered with MANY Thanksgiving recipes for your next gathering. Tonight we make a delicious roasted sweet potato and yam with bourbon, OJ, and maple syrup (we withheld the yucky marshmallow topping). We also talked with Art Bovino from www.thedailymeal.com and talked about Sam’s amazing trip to General Atomics (the maker of the Predator Drone). Thanksgiving week continues this Thursday, tune in to see what we make!

Ep70 – Tomato Egg Stirfry, Knife Talk, and McMashups

This show should have been called, “My whole world has been turned upside-down by Art Bovino (of the dailymeal.com). Today on our little chat with our NYC representative, we discovered the wonderful (or wonderfully disgusting) world of McMashups. You’ll just have to watch to see what kind of creations that people have come up with using only McDonalds products. My personal favorite of the night being the “McWichCameFirst”. Brilliant. We also had Sam give some tips about buying knives. If you are thinking about spending money on that knife block set you’ve always wanted, tune in first and listen to some good advice. Finally, Sam busts out another easy and tasty Asian-inspired recipe with a tomato & egg stirfry with steamed rice. So satisfying.

Ep67 – Buffalo Chicken Pizza, So Amazing

Today we had a fun little show with the legendary Art Bovino from www.thedailymeal.com. We talked about some best sandwiches around the country and Art also enlightened us about a joint in El Paso, TX that makes his knees knock every time. We were also joined by Kelly from The Feast (www.thefeast.com/sandiego) as a special guest on the couch. But the star of the show had to have been the amazing pizza that Sam made with zesty Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, blue cheese dressing, bubbly Monterey Jack cheese, and shredded rotisserie chicken. You HAVE to try it.

PS: Sam is pissed at Kim Kardashian for that whole marriage fiasco. You should be too.

Ep65 – Curry Pumpkin Soup With a Side of Art Bovino

On today’s show, Sam ignites the Fall season with a gorgeous curry pumpkin soup. You literally have more fingers than ingredients for the base and after that, you just add some crispy croutons, some salt & pepper, and you’re done! Check out the recipe here. Art Bovino from The Daily Meal stopped by via Skype to entertain us with some cool food news from New York City. If you haven’t had a chance to check out The Daily Meal, you should do it soon: www.thedailymeal.com. We also had another local food blogger (Jennifer, aka Kirbie) stop by and give us delicious Jack-o-Lantern pumpkin nutella cakes. Check out her stylish blog at kirbiecravings.com for some local San Diego food posts.

Ep53 – Manhattan Cocktail, Easy Chicken Tortilla Soup, and Bacon Tattoos

I feel like I can just stop there. The episode titles speak for themselves. But we had a blast in today’s livecast and we thank you, the fans, for tuning in. We have risen to the #3 food podcast out there and it is all because of you. In this episode, we talk with Art Bovino, our NYC blogger from www.thedailymeal.com and make an incredibly simple chicken tortilla soup out of common pantry ingredients. Fall’s here now and this is the perfect thing to put together on a cold day.

Ep47 – Lox Day and Art Bovino

Tonight’s Livecast was all about Lox and Sam made three unbelievable dishes. We started the show with the famous “Mom’s Lox dip”, created by none other than Sam’s mom. Then, we ventured into Steve’s Univision debut and had a hilarious chat with our resident food blogger, Art Bovino from “The Daily Meal” blog and finished the show with a couple insanely creative and Lox inspired dishes (Lox/Eggs/Onions and Grilled Fontina and Lox). We’re back tomorrow night (our Friday, your Thursday) with another show, including the tour of Sam’s fridge. Hope you all had a great hump day and we’ll see you tomorrow!

Ep37 – Art Bovino, Gnocchi and NYC’s Best Bathroom’s

Well, once again our A.D.D. was on full display yet we still managed to deliver an awesome show. After we started with a little bit of Sam’s thoughts we dove right into a conversation with the editor of www.thedailymeal.com, Art Bovino. He gave us the inside scoop on NYC’s best bathrooms and talked more food/eating with Sam. We closed the show with Sam making an unbelievable Gnocchi with bacon. We’re back tomorrow night at 6 PM pacific time so don’t miss out!

Ep26 – NYC Perspective, Who Eats Haggis? Fridge Fried Rice

Seriously, Haggis? What the heck. I’d rather eat dog food than try that again. If you want to watch Sam and I down some nasty stuff, tune in. No wait, sorry, that’s not a good advertisement. Tune in because Sam talks with Art Bovino from The Daily Meal, a food blog from New York City. We talk the progression of food trucks there and what that might have in store for San Diego’s booming food truck scene here. Also, Sam cooks up a delicious fridge fried rice (yup, a tasty dish from your leftovers from the fridge) in an elongated cooking segment.

Thanks for watching and tune in again on Monday for another show.
